This course is tailored for American residents or citizens aged 21 to 65 seeking to obtain their CDL Class B license. Students are required to hold a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license and pass a DOT Physical/Drug Screen before the commencement of classes. Additionally, students must pass the basic general knowledge permit test prior to the start of the course. Upon completion of the CDL Class B course, students will be prepared to obtain licensure for transporting freight exceeding 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVR) with a single axle trailer.

Hours and Schedule: Designed for individuals who already possess their CDL permit and are preparing for the road test, this course offers 8 hours of training conducted over two-weekend classes, with each class spanning 4 hours. Additionally, 4 hours are allocated for the road test.

Course Layout

Focused solely on driving training to prepare students for the road test, this course covers essential driving techniques and maneuvers. The breakdown of the training includes:

  1. Driving Techniques & Maneuvers Overview – 4 Hours
  2. Pre-trip Inspection – 1 Hour
    Railroad Procedures – 1 Hour
  3. Active Passenger Pick up – 1 Hour
  4. Air Brake Test – 1 Hour
    Road Test Sponsorship – 4 Hours

Classes are held at 383 Second St, Everett, MA 02149 on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, comprising two sessions.

Please note that road test appointments are contingent upon RMV availability and may take several weeks to schedule.

Course Goals

This course aims to provide students with comprehensive training to obtain their CDL Class B license. In addition to acquiring the necessary skills, students will benefit from access to our employment network, connecting them with potential job opportunities in the CDL industry. It’s important to note that while Boston CDL School facilitates connections with employers, it does not guarantee job placement or interviews with DPV Transportation or any other employer.

Course Entrance Requirements

To enroll in this course, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold United States Resident Alien status or be a US citizen
  • Be between the ages of 21 and 65
  • Possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license
  • Pass a DOT Physical/Drug Screen prior to the start of classes
  • Pass the basic general knowledge permit test before the course begins
