Entrance Requirements
Road Test Preparation Program Admission Requirements
- You must be a United States Resident Alien holder or US citizen
- You must be at least 21 years of age and no more than 65 years of age
- You must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license
- You must pass a DOT Physical/Drug Screen prior to class starts
- You must pass your basic general knowledge permit test prior to class starts
CDL CLASS B Program Admission Requirements
- You must be a United States Resident Alien holder or US citizen
- You must be at least 21 years of age and no more than 65 years of age
- You must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license
- You must pass a DOT Physical/Drug Screen prior to class starts
- CORI (Criminal Records Check)
CDL CLASS B -Hybrid Program Admission Requirements
- You must be a United States Resident Alien holder or US citizen
- You must be at least 21 years of age and no more than 65 years of age
- You must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license
- You must pass a DOT Physical/Drug Screen prior to class starts
- You must have a computer and internet access

ADDITIONAL EXPENSES TO BE INCURRED BY STUDENT:
- CORI: Estimate: $25- $50
Note: The employer will be in charge of the CORI.
- DOT Physical/Drug Screen: Estimate: $90-$120
- RMV fees are not included and the student will be responsible for them (permit test, endorsements, license expedition, these fees can vary please check the RMV website: https://www.mass.gov/how-to/apply-for-a-commercial-learners-permit-clp) ESTIMATE: $60 -$80.
- If the student needs additional training, we will provide it. Please note that this additional training has extra fees depending on the student’s needs. The instructor’s hourly rate is $150 USD
IMPORTANT: The student has two opportunities to go for the road test. If a student fails the road test more than 2 times, the student must pay an additional fee of $600 to Boston CDL School to schedule another appointment.
Attendance: When a student enrolls in a course, he/she commits to attend to 90% of the classes. That said, if the student is enrolled in the CDL Class B course, the student can only miss 2 classes. If the student is enrolled in the road test preparation course, the student can only miss one class. If the student has a force majeure reason for missing a class, he/she must inform the academic administrator or instructor.
When the student does not attend 90% of the classes without prior notification, these absences will affect the final grade to complete the course. Attendance represents 20% of the final grade.
Grading: Student grades will be calculated as follows based on their performance in the course. The grading scale is from 0 to 10. The student whose final grade is above 7.0 succeeds in passing the course.
- 0-5.9 Fail
- 6.0-6.9 Deficient
- 7.0-7.9 Acceptable
- 8.0-8.9 Sufficient
- 9.0- 10 Excellent
This is how students’ performance during the CDL Class B course will be evaluated:
- 20% attend more than 90% of the classes both theoretical and practical
- 40% completion of driving skills on the bus
- 20% correct completion of the permit exam preparation test
- 20% obtain the permit and pass the road test
This is how students’ performance during the road test preparation course will be evaluated:
- 20% attend more than 90% of the classes both theoretical and practical
- 60% completion of driving skills on the bus
- 20% obtain the permit and pass the road test
Satisfactory process: School will provide students with WRITTEN reports of progress at least halfway through the program. The student performed satisfactorily in the course when his/her grade is above 7.0. A partial written report will be sent to the student for 60% of the grades evaluated upon completion of the practice test for the permit and meeting the requirements for the road test.
School rules and regulations:
- Be punctual, report to school and class on time. For the CDL Class B course, School begins at 5:00 If a student is late the instructor will notify the academic administrator to keep track.
- Strive to be present every school In case of absence, please contact the academics School Director general phone 857-990-1990 before the course begins.
- The classroom and buses will be kept clean and Do not deface or damage school property.
- If any student fails to comply with the above policies, a penalty will be applied to their enrollment which may lead to suspension from the course. The case will be evaluated by the School’s president who will take the corresponding
Guidance and counseling policies: although the school does not offer any guidance or counseling to students, we will accompany them through their process to become professional drivers. Here are some policies we offer:

School calendar: The School will be available for customer service Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Please note that customer service is only available by phone or virtually. On-site attention is for
classes only. We do not work on weekends nor on the following Holidays New Year’s Eve, Martin Luther’s King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Withdrawal: Per 230 CMR 15.04(7) and (8) (7) If a student withdraws from a Program in accordance
with the School’s withdrawal policy, the School shall:
(a) treat the withdrawal as a termination of the enrollment contract, effective immediately; (b) complete a refund calculation for the student, including all fees and payments, in a form acceptable to the division; and (c) provide the calculation and any refund to the student within 45 days of the effective date of the termination (8) If a student stops attending School but does not withdraw in accordance with the School’s withdrawal policy, the School shall: (a) for purposes of any payments due from the student or refund due to the student, treat the student’s nonattendance as a termination of the enrollment contract, effective no later than the last date of attendance or last participation in an
instructional activity; (b) determine the effective date of the termination within 30 days after the end of the period of enrollment, the term, or the Program, whichever is earliest; (c) complete a refund calculation for the student, including all fees and payments, in a form acceptable to the division; and (d) provide the calculation and any refund to the student within 45 days from the date the School determines the effective date of termination under 230 CMR 15.04(8)(b)
Student complaint resolution process:
When a student has a complaint or grievance, he or she must ask for the complaint form by sending an email to registration@bostoncdl.com subject complaint form, or calling 857-990-1990, then they should fill out the appropriate form and send it to the school’s addressed mail 383-second street Everett MA 02149 or by email. This will be evaluated, and a solution will be provided within 10 working days.
Per 230 CMR 15.07(2) a school shall respond to written student complaints in writing within ten days from when the complaint was submitted to the school.
If the resolution does not satisfy the student’s needs, the student may request to send the complaint or claim to the owner of the school for settlement.
The student may also contact Massachusetts Division of Occupational Licensure’s – Office of Private Occupational School Education at any time with a complaint: occupational.schools@mass.gov OR 617-701-8719.
Financial Aid:
- After April 1, 2017, if a School allows a student to begin participation in a Program while an initial award for financial aid, including student loans, is pending, and the student subsequently is denied some or all of that student loan or financial aid amount, the School shall offer that student in writing an opportunity to terminate the enrollment agreement with a full refund of all Monies Paid, less actual reasonable administrative costs as defined under G.L. c. 255, § 13K.
- In addition to the requirements of M.G.L. c. 255, § 13K, for programs beginning after April 1, 2017, prior to the completion of five school days or five percent of the Program, whichever occurs first, a School shall afford a student the opportunity to withdraw with a full refund of all Monies Paid, less (1) actual reasonable administrative costs as defined under M.G.L. c. 255, § 13K; and (2) actual reasonable costs of non-reusable supplies or Equipment where a School reasonably provided the student with the supplies or Equipment, so long as the student receives the refund to which they are entitled under
M.G.L. c. 255, § 13K. Provided, however, that this provision shall not apply to:
(1) Programs not subject to division approval; and (2) Programs 80 hours or less in duration and $2,000 in total cost
